We recognise the importance of protecting the privacy of personal information we may collect from you. The purpose of this Privacy Policy, as well as the Terms and Conditions, is to generally inform you of how we collect, use, disclose and store personal information and how you can access and correct your personal information or make a complaint about our handling of your personal information.

Personal Information

‘Personal Information’ is defined under the Privacy Act as information or an opinion about an identified individual, or an individual who is reasonably identifiable:

We may collect information about visitors to our online resources (such as our website), however, the information collected is limited and is generally used to assess your online behavioural patterns. The information collected does not identify you personally.

Credit Reporting

If you apply for credit in relation to any products that may be provided by us, or where you agree to be a guarantor, we may need to carry out relevant credit reference checks in relation to you and/or your business, including obtaining a credit report on you, which is consented to by you.

 

By applying to us for credit, you authorise and consent to us using any personal information set out in your credit application or provided to us for the purpose of obtaining a credit report on you to internally assess your credit worthiness.

 

If we are required to keep a copy of your credit application, we will store any credit information we collect about you with other personal information we hold about you.

 

You may access or correct any credit information held by us relating to you, the process of which is set out below under the headings “Access to Information” and “Keeping Information Up to Date”.

 

You may also make a complaint about how we have collected, stored, used or disclosed your credit information, the process of which is set out under the heading “Complaints”.

 

Disclosure
We may need to disclose your personal information to a third party outside of Australia where you have authorised us to do so. By giving this authorisation, you understand and acknowledge that Australian Privacy Principle 8.1 will not apply to such disclosure of your personal information. The location of such overseas third parties may generally include, but are not limited to, Switzerland and New Zealand.

Cable Laying Products will take reasonable steps to maintain the security, privacy and integrity of any personal information that you may disclose to us to make sure it is protected from misuse, loss, unauthorised access or modification. In addition, all employees, contractors or third parties who provide any type of service related to the personal information held by Cable Laying Products about you will respect the confidentiality of the personal information held. If at any time you discover that personal information held about you is incorrect or needs to be updated, you may contact us to have that information corrected and we will process your request within a reasonable time.

You may also request for a statement to be attached to your personal information if we disagree with your request to correct or update personal information that we hold about you.
